Committee

The Committees are constituted as per NHMRC guidelines.

Bellberry Human Research Ethics Committee A is chaired by Dr Brian Stoffell, Associate Professor, Faculty of Health Sciences at Flinders University.

Committee B is chaired by Ms Yvette Winter who is the Coordinator of the SACE program at University Senior College at Adelaide University.

Committee C commenced in November 2009 and is chaired by Dr Michael James. Dr James is Chief Medical Scientist within the Rheumatology Unit at Royal Adelaide Hospital and is a Professor within the Discipline of Medicine at The University of Adelaide.

Other members of the committee are represented in each of the categories specified by the NHMRC in the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research , Section 5.1.30

Individuals with particular expertise are co-opted to the committee as necessary.

Relationship between researchers and the committee

Bellberry HREC aims to develop sound relationships with researchers and relevant organisations. In this respect all dealings will be conducted in an honest and open manner along with the provision of appropriate documentation to ensure effective communication and information flow. Relevant information will not be withheld. Bellberry HREC anticipates that researchers will also act in this manner. If at times Bellberry HREC does not meet customer expectations please follow the complaints process.
