Complaints

Bellberry HREC keeps in regular contact with Investigators and any issues regarding the conduct of research or the processing of protocols, amendments, extensions and other issues are generally resolved quickly. The Committee, however, does not have routine contact with research participants and consequently requires all investigators to include in their Participant Information Sheet a statement advising participants on how they may progress complaints/concerns to Bellberry HREC, inclusive of contact details of the Chairperson.

Bellberry HREC treats complaints or concerns raised by research participants, investigators, sponsors or other interested parties seriously.

The following outlines the procedure required to raise concerns or make complaints.

- Initially please contact the Committee Chairperson by telephoning 08 8361 3222.

- The Chief Executive will meet with the complainant and discuss the matter with the Chairperson of the Bellberry HREC. All attempts will be made to resolve the matter(s) through this process and as quickly as possible.

- Where resolution is complex the matter will be referred to the Directors of Bellberry Limited.

Please refer to the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research 2007 and the Australian code for the responsible conduct of research.
